The practice zipline

The first line is a small practice line to get warm up to the experience. I’m not embarrassed to say that even though it was the baby line, I was nervous.

More nervous than when I skydived and more nervous than when I went swimming with sharks. For some reason, ziplining was an Everest for me. It made those little butterflies in my stomach wake up and cause a whirlwind of nerves.

When it was my turn, I took a step to the ledge and that whirlwind of nerves turned into a tornado.

The guides gave the green light to go and after a quick hesitation, I took a deep breath and let my body weight come off that safe ledge.

I was flying!

Well, sort of. And what do you know, it was actually really fun. Landing at the other end all I could think of was doing it again on the next line! Lucky for me this was only the beginning.

4WD through the jungle

The next part of the tour was a 4WD adventure deep into the property.

Our driver had some serious skills, navigating the muddy, bumpy track with ease and precision. He had driven us to our next zipline destination and now it was time for the real deal.

These lines were higher and longer than our practice one. Though, to distract you from your nerves, they are hidden away surrounded by some of the most beautiful North Shore scenery that you could dream of.

Since that first practice run was out of the way, it now seemed more fun than scary. The whole group was all smiles which I’d say is the mark of a successful tour.

Why Keana Farms is great value for money

There is so much more to the tour than just ziplining.

Moving from line to line included walking across bridges, lessons in Hawaiian farming history, and different challenges such as pulling ourselves up to the ledge using a rope pulley system.

One of the other challenges was to take the step of faith off one of the ledges which had a few of us feeling a little nervous.

There are a lot of things that made the tour unmissable, but I think these challenges really give it an edge. They leave you with an ‘I can do anything’ feeling of accomplishment.

You also got to eat food fresh from the farm.

The zipline tour experience

The scariest part for me was coming to the end of the line.

The crew was there calm, focused, and ready to make sure we stopped safely. But every time I ziplined in, I was sure that I was going to kick them in the face which scared me more than the ziplining itself.

They are total experts though and got me onto the ledge each time safe, sound, and kick free.

8 zip lines, a 4WD trek, 3 bridges, 2 rappels, and 2 bananas fresh from the farm later, and the tour was done.

Can you take photos during the tour?

You can take photos during the zipline tour but make sure your GoPro is strapped to your wrist. You need to use your hands for some parts of the zipline and it’ll save you losing your camera.

They will be taking photos during the tour though, so you’ll also be able to buy a copy of them at the end. They’ll be sent to you electronically so it will be easy to send to family and upload to social media.

The CLIMB Works mission

Climb Works uses CLIMB as an acronym for Challenge, Learn, Inspire, Master, Believe. They have a mission to encourage people out of their comfort zones in a safe and controlled environment.

These principles are shown in every aspect of the tour. You definitely walk away having experienced the five traits in the acronym. I loved this because personally, I believe that we are not meant to stay in the cozy surroundings of our comfort zones.

I find that people that live in their comfort zones avoiding challenges lack character and missing the spark of life.

Climb Works encourages us to use these principles to push ourselves outside of our comfort zones and challenge ourselves in all areas of life whether that is adventures, work, school, fears, relationships, or other areas of personal growth.

If you’re looking for an awesome zipline tour on Oahu, Climb Works is an awesome choice.

I LOVE Climb Works! I keep recommending them to EVERYONE! We went for my birthday and it was a complete blast, I love heights! I’m a mild adrenaline junkie, so I had no problem leaving the platforms and ziplining away. I want to take the hubs, when he gets back from deployment, but we’ll see. He’s not a height lover like me haha! If you ever need a buddy to go with again, hollerrrrrrr 😉

And love the new look for your blog!

Yes, they are definitely the best even though I wasn’t as crazy brave with the heights as you! Thanks!

Aloha !! Just wanted to say that I highly recommend this zip experience. Coming from Someone in the Rec industry for over 25 years.
I’ve always been one belaying on ropes
Courses or or climbing to do set up and tear down. But have never actually experienced it! At least one of this size.
Until I had the chance to go in July! With my New Zealand family! Great experience all around. Great staff, safe, comforting, kind, and supportive mentally and physically. Beautiful property as well!
Thank you again for a memory of a life time!
