$52 USD.

2 hours.

There is a little street parking near Paiko but it’s best to use the SALT parking garage.
Paiko will validate your parking so you’ll get free parking for the first hour.
How to get to Paiko using the bus
From Waikiki, take bus #20 towards the airport and get off at Ala Moana Bl + Coral St.
Then you will just walk a couple of minutes up to Paiko.
What to expect
During the flower crown making workshop, you will get to learn about different types of flowers and create your own flower crown.
Paiko has a range of beautiful flowers and fillers.
The teacher for my workshop, Courtney, made it look effortless in her demonstration. I quickly realized it’s a little harder than it looks.
Half the fun was fumbling and learning though.
The beauty of art is that there’s really no right or wrong way to create. So when you make your flower crown the only limitation is your imagination.
The biggest sticky spot, literally, was navigating the floral tape. It takes a little practice to get going using the tape but after a few goes, you get the hang of it.
It’s a great girls day out
I went to Paiko for this flower crown making workshop with a fun group of girls I met through Instagram.
Sipping champagne and creating art with flowers makes for such a good girls day out.
Our crowns ended up being pretty awesome, and it was cool to see how each of them was so different.
It’s like they each had our personalities in them.
Why choose Paiko
Paiko was the destination for our flower crown workshop and if you haven’t already been there, then you need to stop by for a visit.
Seriously, it’s the cutest.
It’s a boutique florist that radiates relaxing vibes and they sell all sorts of different flowers, succulents, and cute knick-knacks too.
Arvo cafe
There used to be a cafe attached called Arvo which was one of my favorite cafes to go to after a swim. I even went there after seeing my first Octopus.
Arvo has since moved around the corner to SALT, but I still recommend visiting.
Make sure you try their avocado toast with vegemite or literally anything because I’ve never had anything bad from there.

Where to take your flower crown for photos
So you did some flower crown making on Oahu, now what? It’s an awesome idea to take your creation out for some beautiful photos.
Here are a few areas where you could take some photos with your flower crown near Paiko.
If you want a beach setting you could go to the Ala Moana Beach Park, Cromwell’s Beach, Sand Island, or further down to the Waialae Beach Park.
For a nice jungle setting as the backdrop for your photos, I recommend Manoa Falls. For a ridge type trail, you could do Diamond Head but it would probably be a little crowded.
If you can do the Waahila Ridge Trail you’d probably have more opportunity to get some photos with your flower crown.
Of course, you could take it anywhere on the island but these would be my recommendations for around the area of Paiko.
Where to stay in Waikiki
Waikiki is a great place to stay if you will be visiting Oahu. There’s always something going on and an energetic vibe to it. I have stayed at the Hilton Hawaiian Village and can highly recommend it. You’ll also be in a great spot to see the fireworks show they put on every Friday.
If you’d prefer to stay somewhere else, I recommend searching on Booking.com. I use this to book accommodation when I travel and can always find a great deal on their site.
I hope this can help you plan a girls day to go flower crown making on Oahu.
