Welcome! Here’s A Huge Local Business Guide For Fayetteville, NC

So you’ve been stationed at Fort Bragg and just arrived in the Fayetteville area. You’re wondering to yourself “why are there so many abandoned cars on the side of the road?” Yeah, you’ll get used to that. So first of all, welcome! Secondly, here’s my local business guide for Fayetteville to help you get settled in.

Welcome! Here’s A Huge Local Business Guide For Fayetteville, NC

Here's an in-depth local business guide for Fayetteville to help you get settled in when you are stationed at Fort Bragg.

Pet care

Vet

Rim Road Animal Hospital, 910 487 0010

For vet care, I recommend visiting Rim Road Animal Hospital. It’s one of the most positive vet experiences I’ve had. They always took the time to understand what my dog needed each visit, did thorough yearly checks to ensure she was in good health, and were always loving and caring with her.

Each time I went I felt confident that her needs were being met and that was the most important part for me.

Boarding and/or doggie daycare

Blessed Oasis Pet Resort, 910 321 0001

After having a terrible boarding experience in Hawaii the first time I used one, the biggest thing that stresses me out at new places is finding somewhere to board my dog. I’m trusting them with my little bestie and I want to be sure she will be taken care of.

Blessed Oasis ticked all the boxes for me when it came to boarding and daycare. They were always loving and caring with her and they had webcams for both boarding and daycare so I could check on her to see how she was going.

Grooming

Cheryl’s Best Friend Dog Salon, 910 339 8931

When it’s time to book your dog a pamper session, I recommend Cheryl’s Best Friend Dog Salon.

It’s a great local business with friendly staff who always took great care of my dog and made her look fabulous. They were always very friendly to me, attentive to her needs, and I loved the extra treat of her coming home with bows on.

Beauty services

Spa treatments

For a complete relaxing spa day experience, I recommend driving over to Pinehurst and visiting The Spa at Pinehurst. I have a full guide for planning a spa day here with all the details you need to know before you go. Simply put though, it’s where to go when you want to treat yo’self.

If you’re looking for a local option, I’ve heard good things about Renaissance Day Spa and Alternative Wellness (910 484 9922) though I didn’t go there myself.

Hairdresser

Tangles Full Service Salon, 910 485 8131

My favorite haircut experience was at Tangles. It started with a welcome gift bag of samples and ended with me walking out with a fabulous fresh cut and color – how much better can it get?

All the staff were friendly, professional, attentive, and created a warm atmosphere in the salon where you can just relax and enjoy the experience.

Car services

Oil change

Take 5, 910 208 0747

For Oil Changes, I went to the Take 5 on Yadkin Road.

You can drive up and wait in line without an appointment. They’re super efficient and have these processes down to a fine art so the line moves fairly quickly.

The team there always did a great job, added things like putting air in the tires for free, and were professional and friendly.

Mechanic

Harrell’s Tire & Auto Service, 910 487 5550

I only had to visit a mechanic once while I was in Fayetteville, but they did a fantastic job and provided great service so I would return to them if I needed to.

Car purchase

CarMax, 910 864 6222

If you’re looking to purchase a car while you’re in Fayetteville, I had a great experience with CarMax.

We got a second hand car for a reasonable price and it’s been good to us since we got it. There was a chip in the windshield when we saw it in the lot and they replaced the whole thing for us which I appreciated.

Overall it was a good place to find a good quality second hand car for a decent price.

Health

Gym

Fit4Life All American, 910 223 9970

Not only is Fit4Life on Owen Drive the best gym in Fayetteville, it’s the best gym I’ve ever been a member of.

It’s HUGE for a start. The spacious facility means you don’t have to be cramped up in each others personal bubble while you’re trying to exercise. With a wide range of machines from cables to functional fitness equipment, a large turf area, ropes, and a huge wall of squat racks, there is something for everyone whether you’re into powerlifting, CrossFit, or a bodybuilding style of working out.

There’s a wide range of cardio equipment, group fitness classes, and childcare too.

Food and drink

Bakery

Superior Bakery, 910 424 4242

When it comes to baked goods, it’s hard to beat Superior Bakery.

It’s a great local spot that offers up a big range of sweet and savory goodies from pastries to cakes to donuts and their famous fried croissants.

Farmers Market

Dirtbag Ales, 910 426 2537

Check out the Dirtbag Ales Farmers Market for a market experience that goes beyond just picking up some veggies.

You can visit the stalls to purchase all sorts of locally produced goods. Meat, produce, candles, bread, soaps, crafts, and you just have to try the Sweet Goose Brownies – they’re amazing!

While you’re there you can also eat from one of the food trucks, grab a local beer, and enjoy the outdoor ambiance.

Dining

When it comes to dining options, I have a couple of other guides with a range of recommendations so I will refer to those.

Drinks

When you want to head out for a couple of drinks, here are a few options.

  • Winterbloom Tea
  • Dirtbag Ales Brewery and Taproom
  • Gaston Brewing Company
  • District House of Taps
  • World of Beer

Health Store

Apple Crate Naturals, multiple locations

For natural food and supplements, visit Apple Crate Naturals. I didn’t get to visit this one before I left Fayetteville, but heard lots of positive recommendations for it.

There’s also a small range at the Downtown Market Of Fayetteville (and it’s a fun place to visit with a range of locally made products.)

Activities

Library

For a library, visit the Cumberland County Public Library downtown.

There’s also a great local bookstore, City Center Gallery and Books, downtown which is worth visiting if you’re a bookworm.

Crafty Classes

There’s a wide range of crafty classes and events in Fayetteville to get you out and about trying new things. Here are a few to get you started:

  • Range of classes at Turner Lane from making soap to creating succulent terrariums
  • Make candles at Hummingbird Candle Co
  • Paint Pottery at Greg’s Pottery
  • Ladies Nights at DirtBag Ales
  • Gardening classes at Green Side Up Garden and Gifts

Clark Park Fayetteville NC

The Ultimate Fort Bragg Bucket List

Since adventures are my specialty in blogging, I’ve also made this downloadable Fort Bragg Bucket List to make your adventure planning a whole lot easier.

It’s a huge list of adventures as well as unique events and leave block ideas so you’ll have everything you need to make the most of your time here!

Household goods

Thrift Store

My favorite is The Picking Coop Antique Mall which a fantastic thrift store in Fayetteville. They always have a wide range of products to sort through there.

Some other options are:

  • Leclairs General Store
  • The Bragg’N’Barn Thrift Store
  • Fayetteville Haitat ReStore

The Pickin Coop

Garden Store

For all you plant ladies out there, Green Side Up Garden and Gifts has you covered for all your green thumb needs.

Woo Woo Stuff

Crystals, sage bundles, candles – if you like all things woo woo, check out Pressed A Creative Space downtown. I swear I can’t go there without walking out with something.

Even if you’re not into astrology, they have lots of gorgeous products like jewelry, shirts, and notebooks and it’s a great place to find unique gifts too.
