When you first move somewhere, what do you need to set up? A place to live, a gym, and to find some good coffee shops, right? Well, I’m here to help you sort out one of those things with this list of the best coffee shops in Fayetteville. I love a Starbys as much as the next basic bish but here are some other options where you can support local businesses and find some unique coffee shops. Because after all, getting into the local community is the best way to start settling in somewhere.

Rude Awakening
Rude Awakening is an awesome place to stop by if you’re spending time downtown.
This was probably the most recommended place suggested to me when I first moved to Fayetteville – far more than any hike or adventure.
And it was a solid recommendation too. It’s a super cute shop with great coffee, cakes, and a bunch of other treats for sale too. There’s a nice outdoor seating area to enjoy your coffee slowly while enjoying the downtown vibes.

Cumberland Coffee Roasters
This one is not only a great place to get a coffee, but it’s also a quirky place to hang out.
There are books, board games, and just a fun, hipster vibe. If you’re studying (or blogging) it’s a cool place to work from.
I love the range of coffee syrups and the specialty combinations they have on offer. There’s a lot, so maybe ask what the barista’s favorite is to narrow down the choices – that’s what I did anyway. You can also make your own combination.
They have some snacks as well as merchandise and some goodies from local farms like honey and jerky.

Burney’s Sweets and More
If you have a sweet tooth, then this is the place for you.
You’re going to go there for the coffee and stay for the sweet treats. I mean, the coffee is awesome, but the sweets are what really steal the show. Filled croissants, donuts, custom cakes, pastries, pies, and everything sugary.
You’ll be like Augustus Gloop in the Wonka Factory.
Aside from that, it’s a nice coffee shop and great local business away from downtown.

Walker’s Hookah Cafe
Walker’s is currently prepping to re-open and should be back to normal operations around mid-April. I recommend calling ahead to double check if you’re visiting this month.
It’s definitely one to add to your list and you just have to try the Turkish coffee. Bonus tip, try it with cinnamon. It’s amazing!
I love the decor because it feels like being whisked away on holiday once you step in. But perhaps the best part was chatting with Kira and listening to her share the coffee making process and Hookah history.
There’ll also be food served once it’s up and running and it’ll be a full Hookah bar as well.

The Coffee Scene at Prince Charles
Another place to check out if you’re downtown is The Coffee Scene at Prince Charles.
This small shop is a pretty, chic hideaway with sleek, modern vibes. I actually didn’t try the coffee here and opted for a tea instead – but I can say it was delish and they had a nice range to choose from.
I think this is a good choice for an afternoon visit because then you can get some of their fresh gelato as well!

The Morning Jump
The Morning Jump is over in Spring Lake and well worth a visit. I’d go so far as to say it’s a must visit!
They have a signature blueberry coffee called the All American which is like drinking a warm blueberry muffin. It’s life-changing.
Not only that though, they have delicious breakfast sandwiches (add the hash brown in it – you won’t regret it), as well as lunch options, and very friendly service.
You can’t sit in to have your coffee as this is a drive through set up. It’s worth checking the menu online before your first visit so you’re ready to go when you get to the front of the line.

Leclairs General Store
Leclairs is not only a coffee shop, but it’s a coffee shop within a super cool vintage store.
It’s a good place to get a coffee and stroll the store to check out the huge, ever-changing range of unique items and locally crafted goodies.
You can find everything from furniture and home decor, to local art, wine, and food items.
If you become a regular here you can also leave a cup there to save on wasting take-away cups.

Honorable mention: Maple Street Biscuit Company
I’m adding this one in as an honorable mention because they make a mean Maple Vanilla Bean Latte. Iced or hot, it’s delish. It’s a great place to go for brunch, especially if you like biscuits. If you don’t like biscuits… why?
Just make sure you go when you’re hungry because the generous portions are quite filling.
I’m partial to ‘The Farmer’ biscuit, but you probably can’t go wrong there no matter what you order.
